Our client, located in Milwaukee's 3rd Ward, is looking for a Technical Architect. This will be a direct hire to the client. Salary range is mid $80s based on experience. As a Technical Architect, you are responsible for the technical oversight and execution of multiple projects-Web sites and Windows applications-including determining the appropriate technologies (using primarily Microsoft development tools and solutions), architecting the technical solution, coordinating back-end and front-end developers, managing the technical timeline, and directing, mentoring and reviewing the work of developers. You are responsible for ensuring that projects adhere to development standards and utilize best practices to ensure quality technical deliverables. You also get to be hands-on and write code. You are comfortable with the big-picture and with the details; and like working with people from diverse disciplines to create outstanding solutions for clients. This position reports to the Group Director, Technology. Key Responsibilities ** Architect technical designs for projects; including applying standards to construct, modify and maintain application code and applying design patterns to ensure an extensible architecture which can evolve over time ** Create appropriate technical documentation including database schemas and APIs to interface with external components (such as AJAX and Flash technologies) ** Write code to support application designs and architectures ** Ensure adequate unit tests are created to verify the integrity of the code; ensure all code written by you or developers working with you is adequately tested prior to releasing to QA ** Setup staging environments for testing and review purposes ** As needed, support production environments for sites / projects ** Manage technical timelines and tasks for projects ** Mentor and coach developers; including troubleshooting and reviewing code ** Ensure departmental policies and procedures are utilized with respect to version control, unit testing, code coverage analysis and deployment procedures ** Support other developers and architects to ensure the integrity and reliability of an architecture or design ** Participate in standard-setting processes ** As needed, participate in solution concepting to ensure projects meet client business objectives ** As needed, provide technical budget information for projects ** Partner with a cross-discipline team to create the best solution for clients Qualifications You will be strong in coding, ideally proficient in one or all of the following: ** Back-end web working utilizing ASP.NET and/or Windows applications using the .NET framework ** Web applications, web site development and design ** Desktop applications ** Have in-depth knowledge of the following: ** Microsoft ASP.NET ** Microsoft CMS experience ** Have in-depth knowledge in: ** SQL syntax and Database Management Systems ** User Interface design principles ** Have multiple years of experience in the following: ** C# ** Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 ** Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 ** Visual SourceSafe 6.0d ** Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree. ** 4+ years software development (internet/Web programming, Windows applications, database design/development), using Microsoft Technologies and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. ** Strong knowledge of experiential marketing platforms like internet/extranet, wireless, tablet / hand-held, and CD-ROM/DVD technology. ** Ability to work with a variety of delivery mediums (e.g., Web, Windows / desktop, mobile and e-mail). ** Ability to re-factor code and work with legacy code bases using established refactoring practices. ** Ability to understand client business objectives and how technical solutions can meet these objectives. ** Articulate, persuasive, effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to make presentations to individuals and groups. ** Maturity and soundness of judgment in decision-making and solving problems. ** Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently, meeting established timelines, quality and design objectives, and adapting to changing priorities. ** Ability to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative, creative and practical ways. ** Strong people-management and coaching skills to provide clear technical direction and motivate team. ** An energetic, fun personality that's willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations. ** MCSD preferred.
