Kansas Information Consortium serves as network manager for the state’s Web portal, Kansas.gov.  The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC, and is seeking a Topeka-based Technical Analyst/Writer.  We offer a competitive salary, outstanding benefits package and the professional advantages of an environment that supports your development and recognizes your achievements.

  

Responsibilities:

·         Document complex Internet and e-commerce applications

·         Communicate with partners to breakdown complex processes into sizeable pieces

·         Work with partners technical and other staff to determine project specifications and complexity

·         Document client requirements into specified project briefs

·         Aid management and project staff in documenting application standards

·         Assist management with determining cost specifications for proposed projects

·         Assist staff with database design and detailed design documentation

·         Assist staff with project management documentation at all levels of project methodology

·         Participate in work groups

·         Participate in quality assurance activities

·         Work closely with developers, project managers, and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction

·         Follow and enhance all development lifecycle, documentation, and reporting processes

·         Review internal policies and procedures updates based on company and/or state direction

·         Stay current with technical and industry developments

·         Document strategies for new technologies to be introduced

·         Complete reports in a timely manner

·         All other duties as assigned

 Requirements:

·         Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline

·         In-depth familiarity with the Internet, WWW/CGI/WS applications, and database design

·         Following knowledge a plus:  HTML, SQL, and OOA/OOD

·         Excellent oral and written technical communication skills

·         Business awareness

·         Logical approach to problem solving

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Strong organizational and prioritization skills

·         Self-motivated and creative

·         Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
