The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Technical Analyst, SOA Production Operations for our TSG Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
The SOA Production Operations is primarily responsible for understanding the E2E Application functionality. This candidate must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with key shifting priorities. The primary role will be around the operations of ESB SOA. This means being able to understand all the technologies that makes up SOA (BEPL, UDDI, Datapower, XML, XSL, etc) and how to troubleshoot these key areas in case of an incident.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage the day to day operations of SOA. The candidate should have the technical and troubleshooting abilities around J2EE application and technologies such as Web sphere, UDDI, XSL etc. This candidate must be proactive and must understand key monitoring strategies around HPOV. Candidate must be able to communicate and articulate key issues to SOA constituents. Representation of the SOA team during incidents involving SOA is crucial. The candidate will be required to learn detail knowledge on the applications that integrates with SOA, to level of being able to troubleshoot key issues. Operations will encompass capacity management, which means the candidate being able use monitor the SOA platform and using key data to recommend capacity issues. Weekly reporting into management on key operational activities and issues required. Candidate will also be required to participate on requirements, development, and functional testing reviews. The candidate will be required to hold deployment meetings prior to any releases going into production and ensure key checklist items have been reviewed and accounted for. Candidate will be required to coordinate and participate in on production deployment meetings. Key to operations will be the ability to work with cross functional teams such as the infrastructure, application, network, oracle, and monitoring teams. Travel 10-25%
Job Requirements:
Requires strong interpersonal, problem solving, troubleshooting, and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all levels of management. A strong IT background is a must with key understanding on SOA technologies (BPEL, UDDI, SOAP, XML, WSDL, XSD, web logic / web sphere, J2EE, systems integration, networking essentials such as TCP/IP, routing, and firewall concepts. Experience in enterprise monitoring skill a plus (HPOV, Site scope and mercury products). Ability to translate monitoring metrics into reports and impacts to operations. Self motivating with abilities to represent SOA operations team in key meetings. Capable of translating post mortems into actionable work items and execute get team to execute on them. On a as needed basis, required to work during off hours and weekends in support of incidents and outages. Ability to manage on call schedule and respond accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum three years management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Minimum 5 years Information Systems/Information Technology experience.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
