Tax Senior - Real Estate Practice

Ernst & Young's Pacific Northwest Real Estate Tax practice supports clients in San Francisco, San Jose, Salt Lake City and Seattle. We serve public and private companies including, REITs ( Real Estate Investment Trusts), homebuilders, real estate core and opportunity funds, developers, construction companies, hotels companies and brokerage companies. You will get to do both compliance and consulting, including significant transactional structuring and working on a breadth of tax issues. Although industry focused, the Real Estate Tax Practice develops tax professionals by building broad based tax technical skills, including corporate, partnership, state and local, accounting methods, etc.

The professional in the Real Estate Tax group have the opportunity to choose either a Focused Path or Diversified Path (work assignments outside of their designated segment- Real Estate). For example, if you had a Real Estate Tax background but wanted to get some experience in International Tax or Federal Tax, you could also work on projects for those groups.....Your career is what you make of it!

Responsibilities
Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products. Supervise the work of Staff professionals.

Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.

Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Share ideas with others. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.


To qualify, candidates must have:

a minimum of 2 years of tax experience, ideally within a professional services environment a CPA license preferred broad exposure to federal income taxation, partnership and real estate experience a plus excellent supervisory, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills PC proficiency
