Description Tax Senior Manager - Tax Accounting & Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) Ernst & Young's Americas Tax Practice is one of the largest, most highly esteemed and most technically advanced tax practices in the world, with approximately 6,000 professionals and $ 2 billion in tax revenue in North America. Through a combined international, federal, and state and local tax approach, EY tax professionals help companies understand the important linkage between tax planning and their business imperatives. Whether a corporate tax department has tax reporting, risk management, or unique process design needs, or requires assistance with data and technology issues, Ernst & Young's global Tax Accounting & Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) practice can help. Within TARAS, we have tax accounting and tax process improvement professionals who work to maximize a company's investment in technical capabilities, process redesign and tax technology. We currently have career opportunities for Tax Senior Managers in the Tax Function and Performance Improvement (TFPI) Group of our TARAS practice. The Tax Function and Performance Improvement Group works with tax departments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. ResponsibilitiesMajor areas where the group provides assistance include: Operating Strategy and Organization Design - e.g., assisting the client in identifying improvement opportunities and evaluating current Tax Department roles/responsibilities and skill sets. Process and Controls Enhancement - e.g., re-designing the tax provision process with enabling technologies to increase efficiency and reduce risk. Data and Systems Effectiveness - e.g., work with finance and IT teams to increase tax data quantity and quality within financial systems. Key Risks Identification, Prioritization, Monitoring and Remediation - e.g., assessing tax risk and control environments inclusive of and beyond the boundaries of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
To qualify, candidates must have:a bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of related work experienceundergraduate emphasis in accounting and approximately 8 years of related work experience in tax process improvement experience or equivalent experience in business or industry; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience preferredCPA or EA certificationexcellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skillsdemonstrated competencies in many of the areas referenced on the next pagesability to travel at least 50% the timeWe seek candidates with strong tax functional knowledge, and the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and build meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues.
