Mentor Graphics Company, a technology leader in electronic design automation industry (EDA), is seeking a Federal Income Tax Manager at its Wilsonville, OR headquarters.  Wilsonville is located 17 miles south of Portland.  We are looking for someone with a sound knowledge of federal tax laws, income tax accounting and strong interpersonal skills. This is a flexible and vibrant role within an $875M software company operating in over 26 countries.  The position will serve as a hands-on expert, interacting with senior leadership, as well as legal and finance partners. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

•           Responsible for all Federal tax compliance (including informational returns for CFCs, foreign tax credits and Subpart F calculations, and various other international issues).

•           Responsible for Federal income tax provision (including proper reporting of current and deferred income tax liabilities, as well as recording of federal income tax provision).

•           Manage tax issues related to FAS 123R stock option expensing; oversee preparation of quarterly FAS 123R income tax accounting.

•           Provide business units with technical advice and responds to questions about business transactions from business units or departments.

•           Provide guidance and oversight of tax accounting implications related to tax return preparation.

•           Assistance with other special projects as assigned, including evaluation of tax planning opportunities, research of tax issues, and foreign provision issues.

•           Oversee and develop a staff person

 

Qualifications:

 

Progressive experience in public accounting or internal tax department with a minimum of 5 plus years; CPA preferred, ideally with FAS 109 experience; Strong knowledge on tax compliance; Technology industry experience or public accounting experience preferred; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;  Ability to work as part of a team; Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or other related field.  MBA a plus.
