Job Description --------------- PricewaterhouseCoopers’ ("PwC") Private Company Services ("PCS") practice is an integrated team of assurance and tax professionals who work directly with key decision makers at private companies to focus on the unique needs of the companies and their owners. PwC is the only Big Four firm with a practice dedicated to serving only privatively held companies. Within PCS, professionals concentrate on the needs of manufacturing, retail, wholesale and distribution, construction, food and beverage, and private equity portfolio companies, as well as on the needs of law firms and other organizations. The Detroit, Michigan office of PricewaterhouseCoopers is seeking a Manager to join our Private Company Services Tax practice. This is a challenging role with exposure to tax accounting, compliance and consulting for C corps, S corps, partnerships and individual clients. You will be working closely with many professionals in our PCS practice, including the client audit team. You will have access to specialists in international tax, state tax, transfer pricing and our Washington tax practice among other specialists; you will deal with complex tax issues and structures across a variety of industries. Years of Experience Required ---------------------------- 6-8 Education Required ------------------ BS or MS in Accounting or MS in Taxation. Michigan CPA certification, JD or Enrolled Agent credential required Job Requirement Essential ------------------------- The successful candidate may be the principal contact person on many clients throughout the year, effectively responsible for managing and developing the relationship. You will be responsible for bringing tax planning and tax law changes to the attention of management, and will be responsible for the tax compliance, as many of your clients will not have an internal tax function. As a PCS tax manager, you will also be responsible for all aspects of staff supervision, development and mentoring as you oversee your client engagement teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: A proven track record as a manager of the tax practice of a national, regional or Big 4 accounting firm; Strong technical background with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; Strong tax compliance and consulting skills; Strong leadership & staff development skills, and significant experience in supervising tax professionals; Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; Proven relationship management and sales skills; Capability to identify and sell additional tax services to existing clients as well as potential target clients; Type of Position ---------------- Full Time Relocation Information ---------------------- Yes
