Description: The Systems Engineering will be responsible for building and maintaining business systems related to customer support & global operations, including 3rd party systems that support our global routing & task management (voice, email, case).
Will be responsible for ongoing upkeep/maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring, tuning, documentation, and support of multiple systems touching 3000+ PayPal & eBay agents worldwide. Will be expected to design architectural enhancements focused around increased system scalability, reliability, performance, and disaster recovery. Also some applications development work or scripting may be required - .Net experience (C#, ASP, etc) and Java a plus. Some business systems analysis work will be required as well.
Responsible for the analysis, design, and delivery of technology solutions provided by IT systems. Estimate of Development Work Effort to the IT Systems Manager and/or various Project Managers associated with Business unit application requests. Responsible for aspects of new system/application development, testing, and deployment. Will likely be required to support rollouts of new applications & technology to users within PayPal & eBay centers. Responsible for compiling system architecture diagrams, & technical specs/designs. Some application development work may be required, so knowledge of the PDLC & pushing applications through the lifecycle will be required. Responsible for maintaining and supporting our enterprise systems; will be required to participate in an on-call rotation for round the clock global support coverage. Responsible for following PayPal's Application Quality Assurance protocol, which includes providing application test cases and test data into QA, working closely with QA in the identification of programmatic faults, ensuring timely corrections of those faults prior to submission of the application into the User Acceptance Testing phase of SDLC. Responsible for coordinating with PayPal Business Unit representatives to perform pre-release application User Acceptance Testing, walking the representative through the application, recording newly found functional and/or feature bugs, as well as feature enhancements.
Responsible for creation of, submission of, and obtaining approval for IT Change Requests, Release and Rollback Plans, and Communication Plans used to release applications into production; as well as IT Help Desk notification, creation and submission of all documents required by that organization to support the new application or application change. Perform the implementation of, and use of, any 3rd party application required by PayPal business units to meet our external customer support needs. Participate in sustaining engineering and break/fix scenarios, and when required, as a resource in Mission Critical project development and deployment. Meet or exceed all published standards measured monthly and YTD. Maintain acceptable level of job discretion. Qualifications: Education
Bachelors degree required

Experience
7+ years experience with systems engineering & administration, including deploying and maintaining 3rd party and custom systems/applications, designing and implementing various system architectures including DR & HA capabilities, and experience interfacing with 3rd party API's. Experience with high-transactional systems requiring extensive load & stress testing a plus.
Experience with IIS, DBMS (Oracle, SQL, Times Ten), designing system architecture (i.e. f5 load balancing or clustering) vendor platforms such as Avaya CTI, Savvion, Kana, Witness a plus; experience with development environments such as Java, Microsoft .Net, C#, etc preferred. Engineering/Administration, & Systems Integration
