Job Summary

Develop, maintain and support technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for small to mid-sized projects. Perform configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms on mid-sized and smaller projects. Conduct root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures and present to management. Discuss issues with users and translate to determine appropriate technical solution.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Performs installation, maintenance and support of system software/hardware and user support.Performs engineering and roll-out implementation.Performs configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms.Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery.Tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.

Nature and Scope

Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct 'customers' of the process.May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.

Work Environment

Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of ageMust pass the Drug TestMust pass the Background CheckMust pass pre-employment tests if applicable

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline; or, technical degree (or equivalent experience). Generally 5+ years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years experience is preferred.General working knowledge of HD Supply preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Managing and maintaining IBM iSeries (System I) server hardware
OS/400 operating system support and configuration
Software evaluation, installation and support
Data replication technology (Mimix experience preferred)
iSeries TCP/IP communications configuration
CL, RPG, SQL programming .
