Due to the tremendous success we have enjoyed, an exciting opportunity exists within our Sales Engineering organization for a high caliber Pre-Sales Engineering Manager.
The Systems Engineer Manager is responsible for managing a team of pre-sales technical engineers focused on named accounts. The candidate should be a self-starter with experience running an organization of at least 6 engineers. The right person will also be adept at working with peers to define new processes and policies with outstanding leadership and mentoring abilities. The ideal location for applicants would be the Northern VA/DC Metro area. Applicants can also be based out of Maryland; Philadelphia, PA; or North Carolina
Responsibilities:
• Sets regional priorities and policies.
• Presents to strategic customers.
• Manages SE headcount and recruiting in the region.
• Need to be a high-energy, motivated self-starter.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years management experience; 8 years enterprise software industry experience.
• Excellent understanding of channel and direct technical sales models.
• Strong team-lead experience.
• Significant track record of accomplishment selling in the enterprise, client-server market.
• Excellent grasp of technology and industry trends.
• Proven ability to exceed quota.
• Knowledge in selling complex systems products
Compensation: At VMware, your On-Target Earnings are real, not virtual. We offer a competitive base salary plus a monthly commission which is tied directly to your team’s quota attainment.
