Detail-orientated engineer responsible for developing high fidelity ballistic missile and space launch models for use in a variety of modeling and simulation tools and the associated production of high fidelity scenarios. Duties include performing technical verification and validation of threat models, associated scenarios, and documentation to ensure these products accurately and fully reflect validated Missile Defense Agency and Ballistic Missile Defense System requirements. Work location is at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center, Schriever AFB, CO. This position requires a final Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and SCI adjudication. The Threat Modeling Center is responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threat modeling products in support of MDA and MDA's Ballistic Missile Defense System. The incumbent's primary responsibility will include developing missile models that accurately reflect system specifications, engineering data elements required to complete missile models. The incumbent may also be required to support verification and validation activities to ensure that the threat models used to support BMDS events accurately reflect the given specifications and that the models perform as expected based on assessed, observed or engineered behaviors. He or she is required to test selected trajectory models, cases or scenarios against anchored specifications and determine model validly. He or she may also be required to develop software tools to support comparisons of threat trajectory and/or signature data from multiple sources. The Engineer must have a strong background in missile system engineering performance; understand engineering modeling principals behind IR and radar signature data, body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris. He or She must understand basic space and missile system characteristics, motion, body rates, staging, object deployment, Euler angles, quaternion, digital terrain data and M&S principles. Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills required to relate to a wide variety of customers. Travel is required. Bachelor Degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or aeronautics is required. Masters degree a plus. At least 2 to 4 years experience in a relevant or related field is required. The candidate must be a 'self starter', able to work without supervision. A strong knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance parameters necessary to model ballistic missiles is required. Knowledge of M&S principles and previous V&V experience is highly desired. Candidate must have a final DoD Secret security clearance, and the ability to quality for a Top Secret and SCI access. Preferred Requirements: Familiarity with intelligence, missile defense doctrine, concepts of operations, tactics, techniques, and procedures is desirable. Prior military experience in a related operations or intelligence discipline is a plus. Experience: 2 - 4 Years Education: Bachelors Security: TS/SCI RESPOND HERE!
