Sensis Corporation is comprised of two divisions: Air Traffic Systems: Sensis Air Traffic Systems division is a leading provider of surveillance, information technology, and simulation and modeling for the aviation industry with customers that include air traffic service providers, civil aviation authorities, airports, airlines and system integrators. Defense & Security Systems: Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. The Sensis System this individual will maintain is a web-based application that allows multiple diverse distributed subsystems to be configured and monitored from a single location. From this single location a user can configure each site for optimum performance, monitor the health and statistics data from any of the sites, send command and control signals, record live data from each subsystem, evaluate historical data, and play back recorded data for system analysis. The System is currently operational at many sites around the world. Sensis is looking for an experienced System Engineer to contribute to ongoing system development. Specific responsibilities include:

  • evaluating new interfaces to the system application
  • performing requirements analysis and functional decomposition for new development efforts
  • leading systems integration
  • supporting the investigation of Problem Reports from the field. The System Engineer is also responsible for generating and maintaining Product Specification (PS), Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and Interface Control Document (ICD). Education Required:
  • Bachelor degree in systems, electrical, computer, aeronautical or equivalent engineering discipline. Required Skills & Experience: The successful candidate is self-driven and motivated, with a desire to apply formal education to solve real world problems. Candidates should possess strong communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of systems engineering experience in a dynamic, fast-paced technical environment, preferably in the Aerospace industry. Successful candidates can demonstrate familiarity with the following concepts and technologies:
  • Relational databases/SQL
  • Web development technology and methodology
  • SNMPv1 and v2
  • IP communication concepts, UDP/TCP, multicast protocol
  • UML Desired Skills: Experience with the following is beneficial, although not required:
  • Telelogic DOORS requirements management software
  • Software System Architecture
  • Linux Operating System
  • OOD, C/C++, Unix shell script
  • XML
  • PHP
  • Java
