SUMMARY:  Manages tactical and daily operations of the Production Scheduling, Buyer/Planner and Inventory Control functions for NC Operations.  The Supply Chain Group Leader – NC Operations has the authority to allocate resources to accomplish strategic department goals for NC Operations. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Inventory Management - Supervises inventory transactions and executes a plan to continuously improve the accuracy of the physical inventory book balance.  Strives to eliminate the need for intermediate physical inventories.  Executes all physical inventories in North Carolina. 

 

Buyer/Planner - Oversees safety stock levels, MRP transactions, inventory turns, dispositions excess and obsolete inventories, BOM accuracy. Participates and represents Supply Chain in new product launches, communicates and updates Tactical Operations teams at both NC and FL.

 

Production Scheduling - Plans and executes production schedules for manufacturing to optimize efficiencies and minimize costs. Assists manufacturing operations in planning labor requirements. Assists scheduling personnel in the release of production schedules, including batching and creating downloads for glass production and window production.

 

Performance Measurements - Implements and maintains meaningful metrics to measure the performance of the supply chain both internal and external to PGT.

 

Strategic Vision - Supports and implements the strategic vision for materials management at PGT as developed by leadership in Florida and NC Operations.

 

Department Meetings - Facilitates regular department meetings and updates Area Leader as necessary. Participates in daily production meeting and takes action to address concerns related to Supply Chain. 

 

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

·         Bachelor’s degree and post graduate work preferred

·         CPIM or relevant certification preferred

·         8+ years in positions of leadership or in high profile positions
