The Student Accounts Associate (Bursar) is responsible for maintaining the school’s student information system relating to student accounts including maintenance, billing and collection to students and external agencies, and issuing refunds. This position works closely with Student Loan Servicer to resolve borrower questions. The Student Accounts Associate works closely with the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Admissions, to coordinate billing and related student services, and is responsible for the collection and application of campus-wide cash receipts. The Student Accounts Associate reports to the Director of Financial Aid.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities Maintain student information as it pertains to student accounts Process billing, collections, and refunding of student accounts to students and external agencies Campus wide collection of campus cash Track and monitor external and internal Tuition Payment Plans Process the due diligence of outstanding receivables Place holds on student accounts Respond to inquiries from students and parents Prepare and analyze reports related to student accounts Receive all student payments and post to student A/R Post tuition and fees Schedule and monitor payment plans Reconcile transactions on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis Approve transcript request for students with balances Review and adjust student ledgers Post student financial aid payments Calculate tuition adjustment calculations and post to A/R Post refunds to A/R Review student files with Drop statuses to determine if Title IV adjustments or Tuition Adjustments are needed Other duties as assigned Requirements 3-5 years experience in higher education accounting practices and student account services (may substitute significant experience in a similar role) Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to maintain a high level of integrity Excellent customer service skills Ability to manage multiple projects and contribute to a team environment Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel and Word)
