MANAGER OF PRODUCT INNOVATION

Looking for an exciting opportunity?  Are you creative, innovative, and have great design skills?  Very well established and reputable rental services company is looking for Manager of Product Innovation for their Mira Loma, CA location.  Must be professional structural engineer or architect to provide senior level product innovation and design leadership. 

The Manager of Product Innovation/Development will provide expertise and guidance to senior level managers and employees regarding current building design, future code upgrades, sustainable products, LEED certification, “green” best practices, Coalition for High Performance Schools (CHPS) standards, ANSI standards, energy performance, and other construction / code issues. This is a key role that will work with other seasoned leaders in the division to maintain our leadership role in commercial construction product innovation. 

Qualifications

• Applies excellent interpersonal skills both in one-on-one situations with all levels of personnel, and in larger group meetings.
• Ideally the successful candidate is licensed in the states of California, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and has the ability to become licensed in other states as the business demands.
• Handles multiple tasks with the ability to switch priorities and focus as needed.
• Collaborates effectively with and influences peers and other leaders in making business decisions.
• Able to solve complex problems and situations, with the ability to present solutions and ideas at the most senior levels in organizations.
• Exercises excellent judgment and possesses a keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and innovation.
• Documents and communicates status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to stakeholders and senior management.

Experience/Education Required/Desired:
• BS in Engineering or Architecture. A Structural Engineer is preferred. (An architect, civil, or electrical engineer may also be considered).
• 5-10 years of proven engineering and/or building design skills.
• Thorough knowledge of building construction. 


Duties

• Responsible for the design and innovation strategies program. Expected to participate as a business partner on the leadership team.
• Handles most state and national issues with regard to protecting our existing product and facilitating the approval of new products.
• Be a team leader for multiple building projects.
• Research and design multiple solutions for today and tomorrows building needs.
• Work with building officials, fire marshals, and other government agents to ensure compliance in all product designs and applications.
• Provide business development support to our sales teams as needed.
• Provide engineering and/or architectural support to overcome any local or state objections.
• Potentially provide appropriate plans, calculations, and wet stamp approvals to building, ramp, foundation, or other business needs.
• Estimated up to 15% to 25% travel within the continental US.
