Stanley Consultants, a leading provider of engineering services and an ENR Top 75 firm, has a career opportunity available for a Structural Engineer in its corporate office in Iowa. In this position, you will be a member of a structural engineering department providing design services for multi-discipline projects including fossil-fuel power plants, stand-by or emergency generation facilities, central heating and chilled water plants, campus-type utility distribution systems, and industrial projects. Responsibilities, commensurate with experience, include effective project team participation; client relations; supervising and coordinating structural design teams for Lead Structural Engineer assignments; determining design requirements and establishing design criteria; generating, checking and/or approving structural design calculations, drawings and specifications; scheduling work; quality control and assurance. Position requires strong technical knowledge and application skills. Typical steel designs include steel for buildings, pipe supports, pipe racks, and equipment support and access. Typical reinforced concrete designs include foundations for buildings, chimneys, silos, static and dynamic equipment, cooling towers, and tanks; buried tunnel and vault systems; and foundations for coal handling equipment. Proficiency in use of MathCad, and STAADPRO is a plus. This position will require limited travel. Requires BSCE (MSCE preferred) with a structural emphasis, PE registration, 5 to 15 years experience, and experience with industrial, institutional, and utility projects.
