Description:

Structural Engineering firm with multiple locations.  They are looking for a Structural Engineer for their Salt Lake City, Utah office.  This firm works on an assortment of projects with a diverse client base.  This firm focuses on Architectural, Transportation, Water/Wastewater and forensic projects.  This is a growing firm with lots of chances for advancement within.  They have a career path development program as well as an active mentoring program.  Their average tenure of engineers is over 7 years.  This company provides a great benefits package which includes: Medical insurance, flex spending, profit sharing/bonus program, 401K, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid professional registration fees, and 4 ½ day work week.

Responsibilities:

·         Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

·         Some field inspections and site reviews may be required.

·         Maintains and develops client relationships.

·         Ensures the client’s needs are completely met.

·         Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and Jr. Engineers working on the same project.

·         May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

·         Performs other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate.

·         Able to work independently and manages multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Reviews supplier drawing submittals (shop drawings) and performs technical bid analysis.

·         Prepares engineering designs, calculations and estimates efficiently and accurately.

·         Reviews plans and performs quality checks on all levels of engineering

Requirements:

·         Experience working on bridges and water/wastewater structures

·         B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures from an accredited program, MS Structures preferred.

·         Utah P.E. required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

·         Thorough knowledge of pre-stressed concrete, cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned concrete and seismic design. .

·         Proficiency with design software STAAD.

·         Strong AutoCAD and/or MicroStation skills desired.

·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Education:
B/S and or M/S degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
