We have an exciting opportunity to join Pearson's Curriculum group as a Strategic Account Manager for our line of Supplemental products in the Mid-Atlantic region. Pearson's Curriculum group includes all publishing operations for Pearson's line of pre-K through 12 educational products. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the attainment of the company's sales goals for supplemental sales of designated products produced by Pearson. These goals will be accomplished by: managing strategic accounts and state department relationships; driving product initiatives around top tier products; working in conjunction with the Connected Sales team to exceed revenue expectation; and identifying state and federal funding for assigned products. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ' Achieving assigned sales goals while staying within assigned operating budget ' Using strategic selling skills to develop state-wide or large district adoptions for targeted supplemental product offerings ' Developing relationships and scheduling meetings with senior-level decision makers in state and strategic school districts that create demand and interest for Pearson's supplemental products ' Participating in regional events and working closely with the Connected Sales team to maximize sales territory coverage and revenue production ' Managing sampling in assigned territory while maintaining sampling and T&E budget ' Working with sales management to meet all sales deadlines for product submittals to adoptions ' Understanding and selling Professional Development in support of product solutions ' Maintaining and providing territory strategic records and information ' Developing travel plans and territory coverage that are effective and cost efficient ' Demonstrating an ability to learn and master new selling techniques by participating in training and taskforce meetings Basic qualifications for this position include: ' B.A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent work experience in educational publishing ' Successful senior level sales experience with a strong understanding of supplemental products ' Strong knowledge of school markets (Reading, Assessment, and Early Childhood) with solid practical experience in supplemental market strategies ' Excellent communication and presentation skills ' Superior organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability develop strong relationships with key people/departments ' Ability to create and maintain budgets ' Proficiency with MS Office and Sales Force Automation software ' Extensive travel required (> 50%); Valid driver's license required; Must be able to transfer and lift 30 lbs of product to place on shelving or display tables Applicants can submit a resume and cover letter with salary requirements via the online application process or via www.pearsoned.com/careers.
