STORMWATER MANAGER                                                                            $46,225 - $79,578

Environmental Engineering

Responsible for the Durham County Stormwater Management Program.  Administer the Durham County Stormwater Ordinance.  Report annually to the NC State Division of Water Quality all information required to meet state mandate for stormwater control in Durham County.  Attend stormwater seminars in order to stay abreast of current regulations and best management practices.  Prepare the annual budget for the stormwater section. Be responsible for the Public Education phase of the stormwater program including administration of contract with Triangle “J” Council of Government.  Complete stormwater plan and construction drawing reviews within established deadlines.  Maintain the stormwater database.  Conduct field investigations and collect water samples relative to illicit discharges, in coordination with the Durham County Health Department.  Write field reports.  Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with County officials, employees, contractors and the public.  Requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.  Prefer a minimum of three years experience in stormwater administration and EI, PE, or CPSWQ. 

Note: Must possess a valid North Carolina drivers license.
