Summary of Position Description

This person will manage all aspects of the SP program including administration of exams and sessions; recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and monitoring quality of SP performance; monitoring and measuring quality assurance of programs; working closely with faculty to develop cases and program materials to test and train medical students, residents, physicians and other health care professionals; responsible for operations of the SP center including scheduling and budget; work with outside local, state and federal agencies to meet contractual goals and objectives for learners.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

1. Required: Bachelors in education or health related field

2. Preferred: Graduate degree in education or health related field

3. Minimum Required: at least 2 years in medical education related work and 1 year working with a simulation program.

4. Preferred: at least 3 years in medical education related work including at least 1 in standardized patient simulation

5. Knowledge and understanding of Standardized Patient methodology

6. Knowledge of educational curriculum development and design in order to plan, develop and implement educational activities involving SP's

7. Analytical skills sufficient to diagnose a range of educational needs from individual learning to programmatic deficits.

8. Interpersonal skills sufficient to lead individuals and groups through planning, teaching and assessment processes.

9. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of medical and administrative professionals.
