Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits to meet objectives identified in the annual Internal Audit Plan. Review and test internal controls and systems and assess operational procedures. REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES : Conducts a thorough analysis of various process/function flows on a planned as well as special request basis. Prepares workpapers and control review documentation. Makes recommendations for improvements, writes reports and conducts meetings, as needed. Evaluates the adequacy of corrective actions. Builds formal and informal relationships with clients to obtain all critical information on a timely basis. Assists external auditors, as needed. Maintains professional competency through continuing education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of: IIA auditing standards Basic IT processes and procedures Technical Skills: Experience using the Microsoft Suite of products; i.e., Word, Excel, Visio Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational and analytical skills Excellent presentation skills; required to communicate audit findings and recommendations to all responsible parties Ability to: Handle multiple priorities Exercise sound judgment Take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance with a strong focus in Accounting/Auditing 2 – 3 years of audit /control review experience Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and time constraints Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience: Experience in health insurance operations Advanced degree in Business Administration or a related field CPA, CIA, CISA Big Four experience in a health insurance setting ACL experience BCBSRI values diversity and is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer m/f/d/v. -see job description
