At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our Englewood, CO location.
We are seeking an Accounting and Finance professional who possesses a desire to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment. The position is responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of the co-op process, accounting and results on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations
· Manage month end close process - accruals, reconciliations, reporting, account review and analysis related to co-op accounts
· Review co-op balance sheet accounts and ensure these accounts are accurately reflected in the financial statements
· Provide support to marketing and events teams to ensure all activity is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
· Prepare reconciliations and roll forwards of co-op accounts
· Prepare ad-hoc analysis of accounts identifying risk and opportunities
· Recommend process improvements
· Develop a thorough knowledge of key financial systems and help maintain these systems
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS in Accounting/Finance with 2-4 years related experience within accounting
· Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to communicate with various functional organizations and levels of management
· Ability to assume responsibility, make decisions and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
· Strong accounting background with the ability to prepare reconciliations and account roll-forwards
· Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
· Strong aptitude to understand accounting systems and how to extract information
· Ability to translate accounting issues into operational terms and recommend solutions to issues
· Strong cross-functional team player, able to prioritize under stress to meet deadlines
· High level of attention to detail, required in managing analytical tasks
· Ability to relate financial statements to business performance
