A growing company in Southfield, Michigan is looking for a Staff Accountant. The job duties and responsibilities include:
Ø Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger accounts
Ø Assist with monthly financial closing
Ø Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Ø Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
Ø Perform analyses to determine trends, estimates and significant changes along with writing reports to explain findings
Ø Managing and reconciling multiple accounts
Ø Posting journal entries
Ø Accounts Payable/Receivable
Ø Other general accounting duties as assigned
Candidate must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with a minimum of one to three years general accounting experience. Experience with a publicly traded company and insurance/financial services are a plus.
