General Description:

 

Under direction of the Senior Accountant, the Staff Accountant II performs professional accounting work, including auditing, analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, providing information to staff regarding accounting practices and procedures, and reconciling general ledger accounts; assists in preparing the OSUP Neurology LLC’s annual and mid-year budgets; prepares year-end audit reports and schedules; trains and provides technical advice to accounting personnel, and performs related work as required.  Some familiarity with laws and regulations that apply to an accounting function are required to ensure compliance.  This is a part-time position with flexible hours.


Work Experience Requirements:

Coordinate and pre-process payables and conduct account coding. Maintain records for fixed asset reporting, including depreciation. Perform General Ledger account reconciliations. Initiate and process journal entries into various accounts. Assist with month-end closing in accordance with company standards. Assist with generating Cash Income Statements. Prepare documents for Accounting Audits. Resolve accounting issues and discrepancies. Assist with ordering of supplies. Assist with creating Purchase Orders. Assist with reconciling funds. Participates in the annual budgeting process. Performs other duties as assigned.



 

Job Qualifications:

 

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field and 4+ years of progressive experience in Accounting. Working knowledge of Accounting Ethics and professional standards.  Knowledge of Accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.  Financial reporting required.  Experience with Great Plains or other Accounting Software.  Accounts payable experience required.  Microsoft Office software experience required.  Must be well organized, strong attention to detail, ability to effectively multi-task and set priorities. Work effectively with individuals and teams, written and interpersonal communication skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
