HNTB, one of the nation's leading AEP firms has exciting opportunities for a Senior Technician in the Bridge Section of our Project Office located in Waukesha. The ideal candidate will work with professional staff in the analysis, detailing and plan preparation of transportation structures (bridges, walls, etc) Task may include: ? Proficient in Microstation, experience with InRoads a plus. ? Responsible for gathering engineering data from a variety of sources. ? Responsible for resolving technical design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work and data ? Develops non-routine and complex plans, specifications, and reports for transportation structures. ? Calculates design data, prepares layouts, detailed specifications, estimates, procedures, etc. ? May have considerable client contact at staff level ? Assists supervisor by instructing employees, answering questions and distributing, balancing and checking work ? Coordinates assignments with other disciplines on multi-disciplines projects ? Able to interpret complex regulations and specifications ? Ability to work effectively and participate in working relationships with clients and sub-contractors ? Assists in preparing engineering studies and evaluations involved in the development of projects from initial concept to the design stage with assistance from the project engineer Qualifications One to two years of Technical School plus twelve or more years experience in drafting technology for either civil engineering or structural profession.
