Department Overview

The Systems Engineering Team partners with various Sales teams (Enterprise, Channel, Public Sector, Telco) to architect solutions for current and future customers. The SE team provides scalable solutions for out product offerings.

Responsibilities

The Specialist Sales Engineer will work as a senior member of the sales team to provide in-depth technical knowledge and support during the sales cycle, enabling end-user customers, channel and industry partners in the deployment of products.

He or She actively delivers presentations at speaking engagements, seminars and trade shows. Develop and publish technical white papers. Install and demonstrate all components of Symantec's Governance and Regulatory Compliance solution. Must possess in-depth knowledge of both industry and competitive compliance management products.

Qualifications

Industry or Technical Certification is desirable: e.g.. CISSP, CISM, CISA, MCSE, SANS

This position requires 10+ years experience in systems administration, pre-sales or related field. Degree in computer science is preferred. Background in regulatory compliance and audit highly desirable.

Technical (Hands-On) Skills:
* Knowledge of risk management frameworks and security best practice guidelines, such as ISO 17799, COSO, COBIT, etc.
* Experience in internal or external auditing processes with regard to information security and risk assessment
* Expertise in associating IT requirements and initiatives with business drivers to ensure successful implementations
* Strong understanding of IT policies and controls
* Experience with enterprise security applications, systems management, and IT security audit solutions
* Windows Server 2000 and 2003, 2008 Administration
* Active Directory or Open LDAP Administration
* UNIX and Linux Administration experience
* Oracle or MS SQL 2000/2005 Administration
* 3-5 years experience with security tools, techniques and methodologies.
* Experience selling into industries with regulatory compliance related to GLBA, HIPAA, PCI DSS and Sarbanes-Oxley
* Experience with GRC, SIM, IDS solutions
* Experience with IDS solutions or AV solutions

Business Skills:
* Previous Sales Engineering experience
* Excellent Verbal Communication Skills
* Excellent Presentation/Whiteboard skills
* Experience working with large financials, pharmaceutical companies, etc...
* Familiarity with Supervision and Regulatory Compliance controls
* Equally comfortable presenting to Technical and Executive level audiences
* Experience managing the RFI/RFP process

* Region based travel (NY Metro / Philadelphia)
* 30-50
* Car Allowance

Compensation:
* Dependent on Experience
* Salary + Commission
