Group Overview:
TIS Telecom Austin provides network solutions for all TIS, BTGs and BU driven projects. We are responsible for network product selection, testing, configuration, customer consulting, network design and engineering, standards development and security policy integration for the Schwab IP data network. TIS Telecom Austin provides network designs integrated with solutions across peer D&E organizations. We also provide consulting to Schwab BTUs, business units and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
Sr. Staff members are responsible for defining network requirements, conducting technical research, and recommending network solutions to business partners. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to gather requirements, analyze alternatives, provide cost analysis, test options, configure devices, recommend, document and communicate highly technical strategy and engineering designs. IP Network Services Sr. Staff consult with BTUs and Business units on complex analysis of systems and drive for optimally integrated end to end designs. The individual must have worked in an Enterprise Environment that demands a highly reliable, highly resilient, growing network environment with respect to LAN, load balancing and data center hosting and extranet VPN technologies. CCNP/CCIE level knowledge of data center network design and load balancing solutions are required. This resource will manage multiple simultaneous network projects in various stages of design, consulting or engineering.
Qualifications:
Seven years of experience preferably in data networking with at least five in a design capacity focusing on data center network hosting services Strong communication skills and the ability to create presentations and technical papers on subject Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Information Services or related fields with an acceptable level of experience is desired Solid knowledge of Internet systems, ISP routing, route tuning, MPLS and Voice/Network convergence technologies Experience working with vendors to improve existing relationships, understand product roadmaps, define future capabilities, and ensure product support Extensive experience with Cisco enterprise class switches and routers including experience with EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP routing protocols, spanning tree, multicast, QOS, MPLS and security protocols. CCNP/CCSP/CCIE certification preferred Experience developing plans with respect to technology life cycles. Knowledge of Frame-Relay, Leased Lines, Ethernet(E/FE/GE) and analysis of TCP/IP, BGP, HSRP, VRRP, LDAP, multicast(PIM/CGMP/IGMP), IPSec(VPN B2B and B2C) and other protocols is critical Education: BA/BS
