This position requires significant previous work experience in the gas turbine or coal fired Fossile Fuel Power Plant industry.


* Responsible for the development of project schedules to support the business development activities of the Power Business Group. Schedules will be developed by using standard templates that this person will develop and maintain. Schedules will utilize standard coding schemes and dictionaries. These schedules may be level one, two or three in detail. Schedules may be for engineering only, construction only or fully integrated EPC projects.

* Responsible for the development of detailed project schedules for projects once the business group has been awarded a project. Schedules will be developed by using standard templates that this person will develop and maintain. Schedules will utilize standard coding schemes and dictionaries. These schedules may be level two or three in detail.   Schedules may be for engineering only, construction only or fully integrated EPC projects.

* Resource load the detailed project schedules as required by the contract and business group practices.

* Work with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Design Group Leads, Project Procurement Manager, Project Construction Manager and Project Start Up Manager, to define schedule requirements and develop logic to support contractual requirements.

* Facilitate the review of the original schedule by internal and external project participants such that the schedule may be base-lined.

* Once a schedule has been base lined and approved by both internal and external project participants; facilitate the transition for the schedule maintenance and updating to the Project Team. Conduct estimate transition meetings to transfer schedule knowledge and understanding to the Projects scheduler.

* While developing the project schedule, provide two week look-ahead schedules to project participants. Attend weekly progress meetings, either by phone, video conference, or in person to facilitate project success.

* Work with Cost Engineering in the office to assist in the development of the earned value management systems for the project.

* Participate in strategic initiatives associated with Project Controls for the Power Business Group.

* When requested, participate in the analysis of project performance associated with project schedule and change management on projects. Provide project management with analytic reports associated with project performance.

Qualifications •Must have well advanced experience with project management software such as Primavera Project Planner (P3/P5 and P6), Primavera Contract Manager, Access, and Microsoft Project software as well as spreadsheet and word processing software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
•12 years of engineering/construction industry experience
•10 years of Project Controls/Scheduling experience
•8 years relevant power project experience (Solid Fuel, Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle Power Plants, Clean Air Projects)
•Significant EPC as well as engineering services project delivery experience
Preferred Qualifications
•Understanding of Project Scheduling concepts, philosophies, and systems.
•Understanding of Project Earned Value Management concepts, philosophies, and systems.
•Must understand various contract types, i.e. cost plus, T&M, lump sum and ensure that all requirements of the prime contract are understood. Must also understand Joint Venture contracting relationships.
•Must be able to exercise independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues as it relates to schedules' and exercise independent judgment in dealing with clients, subcontractors and team partners in solving scheduling problems on complex and large scale EPC projects.
•Must be able to read and interpret design drawings and develop project execution plans for schedule development.
•Must possess practical application of engineering, procurement, construction and start up functions.
•Must possess practical application of estimating, costing, scheduling, forecasting and project controls techniques and methodology.
•Must be proficient in leading, managing and directing people; and be able to direct and delegate work assignment.
•Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiation skills and presentations skills.
•Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, managers, clients and other in contact with the job.

BS/BA degree preferred.
