The Sr. Operational Excellence (OE) Engineer is responsible for identifying improvement opportunities within the Process Execution Team (PET), obtaining approval, prioritizing and managing projects through benefit realization. Responsibilities also include the proper application of Lean/Six Sigma Tools, Project Management, Process Management and Improvement and cross-functional team leadership. The focus is to drive higher performance through process improvement.
Major Responsibilities for an Operational Excellence (OE) Engineer:
· Implements KPI system and apply visual control strategies
· Leads improvement projects
· Facilitates use of improvement tools such as DMAIIC, Rapid Changeover, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
· Performs statistical analysis as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Designs KPI systems and visual control strategies
· Leads the application of continuous improvement tools including: DMAIIC, Process Behavior Charts and Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
· Coaches the PET on process ownership approach and facilitates the PET to follow Standard Ways of Working and to have a sustainable process for improvement
· Implements and improves process for PET Business Information & KPI Reporting needs
· Provides process leadership for the annual goal and target setting process
· Trainer for Lean Six Sigma tools
· Networks with other PETs and external benchmarking to identify improvement opportunities
Responsibilities
All Levels:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, other engineering or related technical disciplines
. Mininum 5 years of related experience
· Six Sigma Green Belt Training and/or certification from an American Society of Quality (ASQ) recognized program (or equivalent)
· Working knowledge of statistical process control concepts, data analysis, diagnostic tools and techniques
· Expertise in process & project management and improvement
· Experience leading DMAIIC Process and Process
· Expertise in Lean Tools & Methodology; Led VSM exercises and Kaizen Blitz
· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
· Effective internal consulting skills with all levels of management
Preferred Background:
· 5 - 7 years industry related experience in Lean/Six Sigma projects and programs
· Six Sigma Black Belt training and/or certification from an American Society of Quality (ASQ) recognized program (or equivalent) Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and groups in lean, six sigma and process improvements
· Working knowledge of supply chain processes
· Experience leading supply chain improvement projects
· Experience leading major site and cross functional projects
· Experience training individuals on Lean and Six Sigma tools and processes
· Six Sigmaa Black Belt Training and/or certification from an American Society of Quality (ASQ) recognized program (or equivalent)
· Expertise in the application of analytical problem solving methodology
· Demonstrated proficiency in Mini-Tab, SPC-XL or other statistical analysis software, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
· Understanding of GAMP4, cGMP and FDA regulations
· Experience working in a sterile packing & filling operation
