Within Tyco Safety Products, we design, manufacture, and distribute thousands of products ranging from fire detection and suppression systems, personal protective equipment and intrusion security to access control and video solutions, anti-theft and supply chain solutions.
We are currently searching for a Sr. Manager, Regulatory Affairs/Product Stewardship to be located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Job Responsibilities
This position has the responsibility for tracking, determining impact, interpreting and providing implementation guidance on major EHS regulatory initiatives that would impact the Tyco Fire Suppression and Building Products business in the geographic areas in which it does business. This position is also responsible for maintaining a process that ensures that the impact of our products on the environment, community and our customers is managed to be in compliance, protective and minimizes risk.
Develop and maintain systems and networks to track EHS regulatory initiatives in NA, Europe and Asia/Pacific and provide updates as to the progress and timelines of the initiativesDevelop and maintain a process to determine the impact of EHS regulatory initiatives to the TFSBP business and provide input where appropriate before regulations are finalized to minimize impactInterpret final regulations and provide written implementation guidance to operations for consistent application and compliance. Coordinate with TSP and Tyco Corporate EHS on common issues.Manage the implementation of current major regulatory initiatives such as REACH, WEEE, TSCA, Hazardous Transport, Climate Change, Integrated Permitting, Global Harmonization SystemDevelop and maintain a process to ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets have required content and are provided as required to customers and othersDevelop and maintain a process to study and minimize the impact of our products on the environment.Assist the facilities in the implementation of regulatory initiatives and management systems to ensure complianceAudit facilities to ascertain the level of compliance with regulationsTravel is required on a global basis
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other technical discipline. Masters degree or professional certification desired but not required.10+ years of progressive experience and responsibility in Environmental, Safety and Health with at least part of the experience in operations/manufacturingRegulatory experience outside of the U.S. is a strong plus.Experience with trade associations or ad hoc industry groups on anticipating, tracking, commenting on and influencing proposed regulationsMulti-national experience a plusExperience in developing databases to track EHS issues and statisticsExperience with implementing EHS management systems and processesMust be able to travel up to 50% of the time

Working knowledge of the major EHS regulatory areas in world geographic areasExcellent EHS technical skills and familiarity with chemical-related regulations such as TSCAExcellent planning, organizational and project management skillsAbility to influence and deliver results through non-direct reportsStrong problem identification and solving skillsAbility to work with all levels of the organizationStrong ability to read, understand and determine compliance options for EHS regulationsAbility to develop implementation options that minimize business impact while meeting compliance commitmentsExceptional interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written presentation skillsDemonstrated proficiency in various PC applications including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database.
