This position is located in our VA, Fairfax facility



Responsible for developing and maintaining customer business relationships in Army Mission and Systems Support Services (AMSSS) Business Sector (a $250M business unit) and its related markets, focusing primarily on the Army and Joint markets. Meets with current and potential clients to ascertain their requirements and apprise them of our capabilities. Provides management oversight and coordination guidance to a subordinate team of six (6) business development team members. Identifies, develops and increases business opportunities focused on building and maintaining appropriate pipeline to meet and exceed all sector goals. Works, coordinates and exchanges information and leads with AMSSS business development staff and managers and other personnel. Responsible for monthly and quarterly business development metrics and tracking system. Works closely with capture managers to develop winning proposals based upon well executed business plans and winning partnerships with similar and or complementary companies. Develops market strategies and coordinates and delivers AMSSS's annual Business Development/Operations Strategic Plan. Performs research and establishes contacts to develop leads and create business opportunities. Is the face of AMSSS at industry and market space events. Prepares management briefings, program reviews and reports. Develops business plans, marketing materials and manages/coordinates AMSSS show/exhibition participation. Responsible for creating, executing and managing unit's selling and bid and proposal's budgets. Participates in special projects as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Management or a related discipline.
Master's Degree preferred.

Typically requires 12 years of experience in the Business Development profession or closely related experience in marketing and sales in the DOD market space, preferably in the Army domain.
Seeking candidate with advanced knowledge of the practices, procedures and processes of marketing and business development.

Advanced knowledge and currency in today's and tomorrow's Army.
Must be an effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
