GENERAL PURPOSEThis position, under general direction, is responsible for conducting and documenting complex financial and treasury analysis projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReports, analyzes, forecasts and interprets financial, operating and/or treasury data. This may include profit/loss analysis, cost analysis, market niche reporting, regional performance assessments, customer proposals, rate of return, depreciation and any other ad-hoc analysis of interest to managementParticipates in the preparation and compilation of the annual financial and/or treasury plan which may include functional area specific modeling, time-series analysis and graphic presentation of both operating and financial dataPrepares complex financial analysis reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelinesAdvises on and recommends to management desirable operational adjustments and interprets budget to actual varianceMay perform ROI analysis investmentsDevelops operating metricsReviews performance to plan and conduct prior year's variance analysisReviews business unit financial and/or treasury statements and policies to ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelinesAssists other Finance and organizational areas with financial matters as required
QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferredYears of Related Experience: 5 – 10 years related experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advanced PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite; advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs and processes; solid communication and interpersonal skills; proficient use of automated general ledger systems and reporting tools (SAP, SQL, Cognos, ReportNet and BEx); advanced skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis; thorough understanding of general accounting principles and accepted standards; CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
