Perform engineering analysis and calculations for product designEvaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability on as needed basisVerify project completionTake initial design concepts from senior engineers and detail them out into a complete design on an as needed basisWork with other staff members to ensure that production is completed in a timely mannerPerform the following on a regular basisDevelopment of new product designsDraft on a CAD stationBoM and change control managementEngineering layoutsDesign reviewsProduce technical data documentationConduct testingEnsure compliance of company standardsWork in a team and serve as on projects of varying degrees of complexityMentor others on system and process design and implementation 

Requirements:

10 years solid mechanical / electrical design engineering experience in an automotive or machine design facility Experience in the following:Fuel pumps Solenoids Proficient in the use of CADModelingDrawing creationAssembly managementSolid drafting skillsGD&TWorking background inBoM generation & structureElectronic MRP / ERP systemsKnowledgeable with the following systemsHydraulicsPneumaticsMechanicalComprehension ofheavy fabrication and heavy bolt up assembliesFastener technologySound design for manufacture and manufacturing processesProven ability to manage small to medium-sized engineering projectsAble to perform engineering calculationsStrong written and oral communication skillsWorking knowledge of PDM systemsSolid knowledge of APQP 

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

AND

Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in the design of automotive components including:       

·        Fuel pumps 

·        Solenoids

·        Washer pumps

 

Rate of Pay:

$55,000 - $75,000 Annually

 

Hours:

1st Shift

 

Type of Employment:

This is a full-time, permanent position

 

Location:

Commutable within the regions of Nashville and Springfield, TN
