Description: Eaton Corporation located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Sr. Design Engineer.

This position is responsible for the design and detailing of aerospace fluid power components. Support Engineering development projects, proposal activity and sustaining activity. Capability of interpreting design requirement from 2D sketches prepared by project / senior engineer. Capable of developing 3D design models supported with analysis group and desgner. Capable of preparing response to RFI or RFQ request with as needed support from Senior Project Engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provide technical expertise for 3D model for design creation.
-Perform required analysis to support component design.
-Help project engineer in assessing man-hour and schedule require.
-Ensure standardization of products and engineering processes.
-Help resolve program obstacles to maintain overall schedule objectives.
-Internal and external customer satisfaction.
-Compliance with ISO requirements.
-Collaborate with peers and managers to improve efficiency and reduce cost for component development and detailing.

818 Qualifications: Must be familier with 3D and @d design platform such as AutoCad, ProE, Catia etc.
Thorough knowledge mechanical engineering disciplines for product design and development. Knowledge industry practices and norms, design tools and techniques will be a plus.
Working knowledge of FEA, computational fluid dynamics and ANSYS and other programs that are commonly used in mechanical engineering.
Working knowledge of practical manufacturing techniques and factors affecting product / program costs.
Verbal and written communication skills as related to describing component design.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (minimum): Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Physics or related field.
5 years minimum experience in designing of mechanical components engineering.
Proficiency with ProE is desirable.
