This position is available in Seaside, CA, supporting the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). Our client supports the information management needs of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness (OUSD/P&R) and a wide variety of customers both inside and outside the Department of Defense. We're looking for a Senior Database Architect to review, recommend, design, develop, and modify critical database applications. Utilize years of experience and in-depth expertise in database technologies, programming, and system analysis and design of multiple database applications in both UNIX and Windows environments. Propose and implement strategies, standards and architectures that have enterprise-wide impact. Demonstrable experience with database replication, data-access layer, query optimization, data modeling/analysis, and leadership. The best candidate will have at least 5 years of experience architecting and developing Oracle 9i/10g OLTP database systems, and at least 2 years of working with .NET framework. Overall, 9 years of database/development experience. Master's Degree and/or certifications in OCA, OCP, and OCM are preferred. The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, have strong interpersonal skills with a customer orientation, work successfully as part of a diverse team, and have intellectual curiosity about data, processes and its implications. Additional assets include: familiarity with biometrics, physical access systems, systems security and government security requirements. US Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
