Irwin Union Bank Job Description Job Title: Senior Commercial Real Estate Lender Location: Milwaukee FLSA Status: Exempt Hours: Full Time Summary The Senior Commercial Real Estate Lender will handle complex relationships as you call on prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and fees for a geographic area. You will determine credit eligibility, prepare loan narratives, ensure loans meet appropriate criteria, and effectively cross-sell products. The CRE lender will spend 80% of time focused on real estate activities. These responsibilities will be accomplished by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops new and expands existing client relationships by participating in business development activities, proactively reviewing client’s current and changing financial needs, and promoting products and services. Aggressively grows and maintains a profitable book of business to achieve individual and market goals. Develop a comprehensive understanding of client’s needs based on the review and analysis of personal and financial data. Analyzes personal and financial data to deepen current, profitable client relationships. Qualifies prospects by collecting and analyzing financial and related data in order to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan requests. Prepares or oversees the completion of the loan approval form, including careful underwriting of the loan so that the structure meets the needs of the borrower and the bank. Obtains appropriate approval for credit under consideration. Establishes and negotiates the terms under which the credit will be extended to include pricing, costs repayment method and schedule, collateral requirements, etc. Monitors the performance of the borrower over the life of the loan. Be able to recognize developing problems and bringing them to the attention of management. For troubled credits, assist in developing a strategy to return the credit to a pass rating or exit strategy. Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval. Promotes and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Minimum of 10 years in commercial real estate lending experience Minimum of 10 years of financial services experience Demonstrated sales experience with proven results; including diverse customer profiles and complex needs Excellent business development skills In depth financial product knowledge Excellent communication and listening skills Able to proactively identify client need and offer solutions Able to be entrusted to make credit decisions Thorough understanding of commercial lending and small business operations Thorough understanding of personal and commercial financial statements Preferred Qualifications Individuals in this position have worked in both relationship management and credit teams and have proven understanding of the importance of balancing business development and asset quality. Experience providing financial expertise, counsel and customized solutions to business clients. MBA preferred, but not required.
