SR. ATTORNEY Responsibilities: The attorney serving in this position will assist in providing legal support for the Pharmaceutical division of Mallinckrodt Inc., a Covidien company and St. Louis based manufacturer of human healthcare products. Areas of responsibility remain to be precisely defined based on skill and experience, but may include general legal advice, document review and preparation in connection with commercial and complex transactions and becoming involved in compliance-related issues. Required critical skills include the following: • experience in negotiating and drafting agreements and other legal documents, • ability to interpret and determine the applicability of laws, regulations and other guidelines relating to business activities, • strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and concurrently handle numerous matters, and • effective communication skills, which will enable the communication of legal advice to clients in a clear and practical manner. Requirements: Requirements: • undergraduate and law school (J.D.) degrees • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, with a strong preference for experience in a large firm, • experience in representing generic and/or branded pharmaceutical businesses considered extremely helpful, but not necessary • writing samples will be required
