Job Description
As a member of the Enterprise Architecture & Engineering team you will be responsible for working with the business and application owners to translate their requirements into sound technical infrastructure solutions while ensuring operational rigor and supportability with the operational teams. You will be a recognized leader in your subject matter area and will be a resident domain expert in at least one major cornerstone technology. We seek individuals with a broad technology base and a high aptitude for learning who are energized by the challenge of applying technology to meet the needs of the business. Individuals must view solutions holistically as end-to-end implementations and consider systems, network, desktop, and application impacts. A qualified candidate will have architect, design, and engineering experience in a large global environment (> 4000 employees).
In addition to having strong design skills, members of the engineering team should be experienced running large scale production environments and be well versed in the operational challenges of global deployment and support of mission critical infrastructure.

Specific Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the application teams to understand requirements and define options for achieving stated goals. Understand financial impacts and be comfortable presenting/supporting TCO models and financial trade-offs.
- Architect, design and build solution sets to support application, infrastructure, and strategic initiatives.
- Define and publish standards and processes for the infrastructure groups. Collaborate with Architecture and Operational teams to ensure the supportability of standards.
- Develop and execute program and project plans to build and support the implementation of proposed solutions and business objectives.
- Work with all levels of IT infrastructure personnel to assure the timely completion of deliverables throughout the project life-cycle.
Qualifications
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years as a lead engineer or solution architect.
- Strong customer orientation and the ability to work as a partner in the definition of solutions and supporting metrics.
- Solid communication skills
- Strategic thinker with ability to think on 3-5 year planning horizon
- Ability to set and manage expectations
- Strong project management skills (certifications a plus).
- Knowledge/experience with a broad range of technologies including; MS Windows Server, Unix Servers, Linux, Exchange Messaging, Security/firewall technologies, Desktops (Windows) and Networking technologies.
Additional Experience Considered a Plus:
- Experience managing server consolidation initiatives and migration to/from legacy environments.
- Application development experience is highly desirable. Experience in SOA (service oriented applications) or reuse models beneficial.
- Knowledge of Oracle or Siebel technologies would be considered advantageous.
