This position is located in our HI, Honolulu facility



Performs telecommunications network analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance; works under limited supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.

Performs operating/hardware systems engineering, including full life cycle design and development. Analyzes and documents users, functional and data requirements. Conducts functional user interviews to document functional, system, customization and data requirements and data sources Determines data requirements for internal processes and external interfaces. Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements. Develops documentation to describe system requirements and use. Provides technical support and diagnoses and resolves system problems. Provides direct support to the customer in order to fulfill their functional requirements. Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned. Performs hardware engineering tasks of a complex nature with some latitude for independent action or decision and which usually require appreciable originality and ingenuity. Coordinates directly with the customer on site and organizes tasks required at the command. Attends meetings at the Command relevant to CENTRIXS and provides feedback to the GDIT office. Design, test and implement networks focusing on the infrastructure components. This includes Windows 2000/2003 domain, Storage Area Network, COTS application, VMware design and implementation. Network management design and implementation using vendor specific configuration tools. Network security/information assurance including active audit, firewalls, intrusion detection, etc. Equipment specifications, requirements analysis, procurement support, network cabling, rack assembly, installation support and equipment relocation.



Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Requires 5-8 years experience.
