This position will be critical to the Sales Desk’s goal of building our book of business.  The Capital Markets Sales Desk’s mission is to provide lenders with competitive market execution and liquidity while facilitating the acquisition of mortgage products to the retained portfolio and through off-balance sheet transactions.  The ideal candidate must be self-motivating; maintaining account contact, providing research, executing trades and commitments, and resolving problems. Actively solicit mortgage whole loans and securities from originators through all effective methods, including telephone coverage, networking, travel, conference attendance, and mailings.  Excellent customer service will be crucial to the applicant's success. Market Early Funding products and work closely with the Early Funding team to identify new business opportunities and to support existing relationships. Build, maintain, and grow an active book of accounts.  Provide lenders with aggressive markets, trading opportunities, market commentary, and Work closely with the Locations; keeping Customer Account Teams abreast of account activity. Ensure that all procedures are properly observed, all trades and commitments are conducted with authorized personnel, all records and contracts are complete and up to date, and all customer position limits/risk tolerances are observed. Lead team discussions, prepare management reports, and provide lender profiles/summaries on an “as needed” basis. 5+ years experience in a secondary marketing department of a mortgage banking company or in an MBS sales capacity at a broker/dealer operation.  In depth understanding of mortgage banker pipeline management, including pricing, pooling, and delivery. Strong selling and customer service skills are mandatory. Applicant must demonstrate a proven ability to develop customer relationships. Knowledge of the terms and dynamics of the fixed income securities market is critical. Expert understanding of financial tools and concepts is necessary. Supervisory experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business Administration or Economics is required. Securities licensing is preferable, such as a Series 7. Good computer skills, including spreadsheet expertise. The ability to work calmly and quickly under pressure is a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills COMPENSATIONFannie Mae’s compensation and benefits package is very competitive.
