SQL Server Data Architect - Ipswich, MA

 

The Data Architect will develop, re-engineer and maintain the enterprise wide view of configuration data. This individual will analyze information requirements specified by the user community and design the required data structures to support those requirements.  Working with business stakeholders and within engineering project teams, the Data Architect will be deeply immersed in a number of projects involved from concept to implementation of those projects.  

 

Essential Functions:

 

Responsible for far-ranging projects, the role requires exceptional versatility including: project leadership; technology planning; formal and informal communication; requirements analysis, software design and analysis; and software development.  This senior role will have significant influence on the way systems are designed and data is modeled to manage workflow and data repository needs of the business. This role requires the ability to master many competing factors to form correct judgments and recommendations that balance current and anticipated business and technology needs.

Introduce strategic advancements in the Admin database unit test framework for applications and stored procedures.Communicate and represent ideas through data model documentation and insure documentation is current.Champion the impact of high volume applications and recommend performance improvements.Take ownership of current operational data structures and initiate optimizations and reconfigurations as warranted.Establish and maintain all standards pursuant to data structures and models.Team with clients, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications, scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational databases.

 Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study Two (2) or more years of experience as a Data ArchitectEight(8) years experience in specification, design, development of mission critical database systems. Data modelingSQL Server 2005Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent team-working skillsDeep technical understanding of systems, databases, networking, and computing environments.Experience in XML standards preferred
