Who We Are

An internationally known limestone industry leader, Carmeuse North America is seeking an entry level, degreed engineer to add to our Ohio Operations Team. This person will be mentored and participate in our formalized training program in order to be successful in the role of a Process Engineer. He/she will be knowledgeable in the lime process and gain significant kiln operations experience.

 

What You'll Learn

Upon completion of the training program, responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, responsible for the continuous improvement of the heat & material balances of our processes; processes include, but are not limited to: stone feed, process of calcining into lime, lime quality, all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc.; have ownership of the process and in charge of process improvement and optimization; and root causes analysis on process issues; providing process support for troubleshooting, optimization, and planning to production, maintenance, and quality control; records any problems related to the process or system; initiates, recommends, provides and/or implements solutions; involved in maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings; hold at least one daily handoff meeting with operators and team leaders about the daily instructions, production expectations and any barriers they had during their shift; work with Engineering to design, implement plant modification from the startup and transitioning to the continuous monitoring and optimization phase; and other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills

What You Need To Have

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field; Experience in related industries such as mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc . Exposure to Root Cause analysis and process engineering within maintenance, operations or plant engineering environments;   A 'take charge' person with a Positive & Proactive attitude and the ability to perform with minimal supervision; Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators; Technical aptitude & analytical skills; Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities;

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
