Currently, we have a great opportunity for a highly motivated, customer service oriented, sales professional to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meet or exceed set sales and corporate goals by developing and implementing a territory business plan encompassing all key customer targets.  Develop and maintain relationships with influential customers in the territory (e.g. high prescribers, thought leaders, managed care influencers, and certified diabetes educators) to enhance compound and/or product loyalty.

Achieve or exceed corporate call objectives by proactively identifying key targets (e.g. physicians, certified diabetes educators, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals) and developing the appropriate action plan to influence their prescribing habits regarding the use of Amylin products.

Deliver clinically accurate presentations of Amylin products to targeted physicians and other appropriate health care audiences.  Effectively utilize and manage all Amylin-approved resources to optimize corporate return on investment with appropriate customers. Plan and execute medical education programs, such as symposium, speaker dinner programs, and Continuing Medical Education programs, to build customer loyalty and develop advocates.

Assist Manager in district management process, including but not limited to meeting planning, new hire orientation, interviewing, training, key account management, and Amylin quality improvement and ad hoc projects, as directed by line management.

Develops strategies to enhance territory and assist in district strategies. Seek information on competition, industry trends, discern how this could affect business, and proactively suggest strategies that will impact the district team. Assist in building a cohesive team of Territory Managers within the district, region and nation.

Maintain a team approach with Amylin colleagues and our alliance counterparts to maximize appropriate territory activities and accomplish positive results for Amylin and the customer, including Medical Science Liaisons, Diabetes Clinical Liaisons, marketing personnel, and managed care account managers. Actively participate in formal and/or informal Amylin mentoring program, such as assisting associates with medical education programs and identifying advocates and key targets.

Actively participate in continuous learning programs, such as technical updates and professional skills enhancement.  Complete all administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain a Department of Motor Vehicles’ driving record in accordance with Amylin’s fleet and automobile requirements.

Adhere to company standards for personal honesty, integrity, trust, respect and accountability. Perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable state and federal rules and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related healthcare/sales credentials or equivalent and three years sales experience with a successful track record of field sales in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or healthcare industry. Diabetes and/or endocrinology and/or injectable sales experience is required. Retail, wholesale, managed care account and/or institution experience is desirable. Proficient with data analysis and market data interpretation.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office word processing, email, presentation, and spreadsheet software, Contact software, and use of laptop computers.  A valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to travel up to 100% of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
