Southwest Regional Filtration Engineering Sales Leader


The Opportunity:

Increase revenue and profitability through sales of capital equipment filtration systems, new and replacement membranes and chemicals to existing and new customers in Southern California (San Diego), Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii for the industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment market. Manage the regional territory with responsibility for managing representatives, developing the project opportunity pipeline and achieving bookings target volume. Support the general overall sales efforts in territory with representatives, A&E’s, Consultants, OEMs and end-users.

Expectations:

• Meet established sales goals in gross sales, profit margins, new customer sales targets and new product sales targets:
• Develop a lead pipeline in the territory comprising all KMS products used in water and wastewater treatment including MBR – membrane bioreactors, hollow fiber ultra filtration drinking water, tubular ultra filtration and reverse osmosis / nanofiltration spirals.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to gain new business and sales profitably through key account management, contact management, corporate account management, pursuing assigned sale leads and individual lead development.
• Develop relationships within the territory through interfacing with OEM’s, consulting firms, specifying engineers, project engineers, distributors, end-users and market associations
• Provide customer support and coordinating product and application training in territory.
• Maintain a healthy rep network in the territory with qualified reps. Identify new reps for open territories within the region. Travel with reps to ensure their focus on KMS products.
• Interface and coordinate efforts with Inside Sales, Process Technology, Engineering and Tech Service to support opportunities in the territory.
• Interface and coordinate efforts with internal sales people in working in the following states – California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Hawaii.
• Coordinate efforts with sales people in other territories on pricing and sales strategies for trans-regional and international customers.
• Complete required written communication (including Call Reports, Prospect Reports, Customer Reports, etc.) and verbal communication for completing proposal, quotations, processing orders, warranty claims, general information, etc. as required.
• Gather market intelligence regarding market trends, competitive pricing, product demand, etc., in the local region and disseminate through the organization.
• Support Management Team in development of regional business plans and forecasts.
• Maximize efficiency of sales calls through time and territory management, control spending within assigned territory and complete required expense reports.
• Travel 60% - 80%.



The Right Stuff 

• Ability to analyze competitive situation to develop and implement business plans 
• Solution based sales capability – we want to sell our customers the right solution for their needs 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required 
• Top notch presentation skills and negotiation skills 
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to close the deal and bring in orders. 
• Energetic, technically oriented individual 
• Must be able to work with little supervision and able to function in a challenging and dynamically changing environment 
• Knowledge of membrane systems, membrane products and the water and wastewater market 
• Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner in individual and group settings 
• MS Office Literate with general PC skills 
• 5 years of technical sales experience in capital equipment sales to water and wastewater market 
• BS Degree in Engineering or Chemistry. 
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
