Job Summary:
Product and partner engineer responsible for developing solutions for customers utilizing a SAN / IP SAN infrastructure. The person will be responsible for understanding how customers benefit from the technology and creating specific solutions to meet enterprise customer needs. Two to five years SAN / network management experience required. The engineer will work cross-functionally to create technical content for System Engineers and work with Professional Services to create technical solutions for customer’s business challenges. The engineer will working with Marketing, Product Management and Development Engineering on the company's future strategies related to the area of IP SAN/ SAN solutions. The person will be expected to drive virtual team activities and be a self starter. The person in this role may also work closely with respective third-party vendor organizations as required to achieve our corporate goals.

 

Essential Functions:

Identify need for, independently create and produce internal/external technical content.
Participate in solution design and release process through active involvement in marketing requirements and phase review processes.
Cross-train other technical organizations within Network Appliance and select partner organizations in area of expertise where required.
Participate in executive briefing and tradeshow speaking opportunities.
Develop and present technical training materials to field personnel and service organizations.

 

Education:
BS or equivalent industry experience

Qualifications:

Requirements:

7+ years professional experience in a related technology area.
Proven expertise in the area of operating systems VMware, Windows, AIX, HP/UX and Linux.
Understanding of database technologies and applications are strongly desired.
Strong working knowledge of file systems, operating systems and, storage technologies (NAS, SAN), IP networking, and/or Fibre Channel networking is also required while previous experience with disaster recovery solutions, business continuance, Nearline storage, and/or data replication software would be highly desirable.
Candidate must have strong technical and project management skills and must be able to work cross-functionally with other development teams and partner organizations.
Candidate must also possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Approximately 20% travel required.
