Primary duties & Responsibilities:  

 

Management of a Software Engineering Department engaged in the development of real time embedded software and firmware for military Avionics and Electronic Warfare systems.  The successful candidate will direct and in participate in the development of software system architectures, detail design, prototyping and testing.  He/she shall also engage in proposal activities, project planning, training and the management of Internal Research and Development activities.

Education Required:

 

BS Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Applicants with an Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics degree would be considered if supplemented with appropriate work experience.

 

Desired:  MS Computer Science with graduate studies in Embedded Systems or Operating Systems.

Experience Required:

Five years working a similar capacity or performing software engineering on complex systems including the development of real-time multi-tasking applications.  Experience must be in Defense Electronics or a comparable high technology industry.  Excellent analytical, management and technical problem solving skills are pre-requisites for this position.  Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, debugging, optimizing, integrating and testing complex software solutions in DSP, CISC or RISC environments. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a record of achievement in the design and development of complex software intensive equipment.  Proven ability to perform new product development and provide innovative solutions.

Desired:  Knowledge of safety critical software development standards, wireless communication systems and protocols, a background in CMMI processes and procedures, experience with the range of developmental constructs including a detailed risk management, Xilinx embedded development architecture and VHDL.

  Must hold or be able to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.

We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off.
