Description: Job Summary:
As a member of the software development team, you will be responsible for developing the next generation of NetApp's Compliance solutions. The specific focus of this position is file system compliance and retention services using C programming language in a UNIX like environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.

Education and Experience:- A minimum of 8 years of experience is required. 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred. - A minimum of 5 years systems software development experience with a proven track record of successful OS kernel, file system, or archive, compliance and security related development.- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects. Qualifications: Requirements:
You will be responsible for all aspects of system software development - from the definition of initial functional requirements, detailed design, implementation and validation through post release sustaining engineering and product evolution activities. You will be expected to write functional specifications and design documents that describe in detail the software products you will be developing. You will conduct design and code reviews of your work with other members of the team and cross-functionally with other groups affected by your work. You will be expected to proactively seek out input from other engineers about your design ideas and be able to articulate the details of the design. You must also be able to work well with other members of the team, help foster and grow a team-building environment.

Required skills:
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming language.
- UNIX or UNIX-like OS Kernel or file systems related development experience.
- A strong understanding of complex concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Highly desirable skills:
- Experience in one of the areas of archiving, compliance or security.
- Background in storage technologies
