Software Engineer

Tapestry Solutions, Inc. has been honored as one of San Diego's fastest growing companies by the San Diego Business Journal. We are an employee-owned organization specializing in graphical software products and services for the military and civilian service organizations. 

We are currently recruiting to fill several Software Engineer positions. This opportunity will be located at our headquarters in, which is conveniently situated in the Kearney Mesa area of San Diego.  The successful candidate(s) will join a rapidly growing group that supports several large, complex projects. This position requires a person that is willing to take on tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision, in an environment that is dynamic and fast-paced.

Position Summary

The Software Engineer position requires both a Computer Science degree or similar education and 5+ years of professional experience. The focus of this position is on programming, software analysis, troubleshooting and testing in a team oriented software development environment.

Primary Job Functions

The primary function of this position is to perform programming and troubleshooting on Tapestry software applications.  This position may be involved in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). 

The individual will:

·        Perform software development tasks: programming, analysis and problem resolution.

·        Perform tracking, testing, validation and verification of complex software applications.

·        Adhere to software quality and coding standards.

·        Occasionally serve in an external liaison role in situations requiring on site support or third party (customer/contractor/vendor) coordination or expertise.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar focus area. Experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree may be considered. The position requires a minimum of 3-8 years of proven professional experience, including practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

We are seeking

• C++, C, or similar object oriented languages.

• Web centric technologies and programming languages (.Net/C#, etc.).

• Scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.).

• Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.). 

Skills and Abilities

The software engineering skills required include:

• Object oriented programming skills.

• Algorithmic or similar design and problem solving skills.

• The ability to multi-task.

• Good organizational skills.

• Good communications skills, both oral and written.

• The ability to work effectively with other people, both internal and external.

Candidate Requirements

The candidate must be able to secure a U.S. government issued security clearance which normally requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 

The candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 20% if required.
