Location: Lexington, Massachusetts: The work will include, but not be limited to, implementation of real time and near real time sensor back end processing. This position requires a software developer / architect / engineer who has exceptionally strong knowledge of and experience with C++ in a soft real time environment on Linux and/or Solaris. The Software Engineer will apply extensive technical expertise, and have a full knowledge of other related disciplines. The Software Engineer will develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Relocation: No relocation funds are available for this position Qualifications: Required experience for this position will include a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical discipline and 8 to 12 years of experience. Scientific programming experience with C/C++ and/or Java is required. The successful candidates must be highly motivated self-starters who can work effectively in a broad-based interdisciplinary team environment. Highly effective communication skills are required. The successful candidates will work closely with the software team leaders and other members of the team to quickly prototype possible approaches to problem solutions, and then implement the final solution.
DESIRED: An MS or PhD Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical discipline is desired. Familiarity with radar systems, optical systems, and modern communications software architectures is desired. Knowledge of and experience with Boost and high speed messaging approaches based upon DDS and/or similar paradigms is desired. Knowledge of and experience with Java, UNIX, Windows, Eclipse, Source Forge, SVN, and requirements gathering and software design tools desired. Experience with MATLAB development experience a decided plus.
