Description: Functions as technical leader for multiple, complex applications utilizing demonstrated ability to deliver technical solutions to the problems and challenges inherent in related projects. The person in this role will be a member of the development group supporting BWH's inpatient and Emergency Department CPOE applications and other clinically related systems. Primary responsibilities include supporting and enhancing the CPOE application. Activities include meeting with analysts and end-users to define their needs, understanding departmental operations, preparing detailed technical documents, working individually and with other programmers to develop code, testing software, supporting implementation, compiling and analyzing data, and providing on-going support. As new projects arise, this person may assume other responsibilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in the health care environment with technical/computer emphasis. 7 years programming experience. Proven systems design and technical project management skills. 7 years experience with MUMPS / CACHE 7 years of VB experience and COM component development 7 years of Object Oriented Programming 5 years of database experience Experience with developing data input forms CACHE Objects skills preferred HTML, Weblink, JavaScript skills preferred Experience with .NET and C# technology would be a plus Excellent communication skills - both oral and written. Must be able to negotiate and/or communicate with all levels of staff including senior management. Must have demonstrated the ability to do the job by designing and implementing at least one system, either in the hospital or in a similar environment. Demonstrated statistical/analytic and reasoning skills to perform high level of problem solving. Ability to assume a high level of authority and responsibility. Ability to work under stress, due to frequent deadlines and unanticipated scope changes. Has a thorough understanding of application development, including analysis, coding, testing, project management, and project life cycle methodologies. Able to act independently or under very general direction. Participates as an active member of a team. Shows willingness to compromise and willingness to adapt to changes in design requirements. Developer should understand transaction oriented programming, object oriented programming, real time systems in client/server and web based environments, and commercial software methodologies. Involvement in 24x7 support rotation. Will be working from the Wellesley Gateway Office No supervisory or financial responsibilities but will act as technical leader for large project and mentor to other developers on the team. Performs all other duties as assigned.
